Picture tutorial sculpting a fairy head

This fairy head is sculpted with air dry clay.

The basis for the head is a special type of styrofoam, also used for coffee cups.

Air dry clay does not have to be baked, but the drying process can be speed up by drying it in an oven on appr. 70 degrees celcius.

This sculpting technique is suitable for air dry clay, and also for some types of polymer clay, like Fimo.

In my sculpting books

- Fairy Sculpting -
(available with English translation) about child figures

- Fairy Fantasy Dollmaking -
(new) about female figures

you will find all the information and many beautifull and clear sculpting pictures about making a fully sculpted child or adult fairies and mermaids, with proportions, anatomy, materials, paterns, wings and a lot more.
